Kate was born on October, the 13th 1967 in San José,California. She is the youngest of five children who were raise in Tucson, Arizona. Kate studied in Chicago and worked at Piven Theatre Workshop, then joined the National Public Radio and was involved in the production of the radio play Born Guilty Walsh moved later to New York where she got her first Television roles. Her first major TV appearence was in 1997, on The Drew Carey Show where she played Drew's girlfriend, Nicki. Kate became famous thanks to her role as Addison Montgomery Shepherd in the hit TV Show Grey's Anatomy and then obtained her own show resolving around Addison's life entitled Private Practice.
